How Tips Work at Boss Hog
- Never expected. A tip is not part of your price, and the choice is entirely yours.
- Always appreciated. Our crew members are University of Arkansas students, so a tip goes a long way toward their education and living costs.
- Shared evenly. All tips are distributed evenly across every crew member assigned to your job.
A worked example
Two movers work a three-hour apartment move. At $5 per mover per hour, the tip is $30 in total, or $15 each. At $10 per mover per hour, it is $60 in total.
Stairs, heavy pieces, long carries and summer heat are the usual reasons people tip toward the higher end.
Other Ways to Say Thanks
- Leave a Google review and mention your crew by name.
- Have cold water on hand, especially in summer.
- Recommend the crew to a friend or neighbor who is moving.
Tipping FAQs
How much should I tip movers?+
Published guides commonly suggest about $4 to $10 per mover per hour for a local move, or roughly $20 to $30 per mover for a half day and $40 to $60 per mover for a full day. Tipping is optional and the amount is up to you.
Do I have to tip Boss Hog movers?+
No. We never expect tips. They are always appreciated, and because our crew members are University of Arkansas students, a tip goes a long way toward their education and living costs.
How are tips shared at Boss Hog Moving Co.?+
All tips are distributed evenly across every crew member assigned to your job.
Should I tip a percentage of the bill or a flat amount?+
Either works. Guides differ: some suggest 5 to 20 percent of the bill, while others recommend a flat or hourly amount per mover because a percentage on a large move can add up quickly.
When is it reasonable to tip more?+
Guides suggest the higher end of the range for harder jobs: several flights of stairs, heavy or fragile pieces, long carries, or bad weather.
Is it fine not to tip?+
Yes. A tip is a thank-you, not a fee. If you were happy with the crew, a Google review also helps them and costs nothing.
